Local Truck Driver — Edmonton Area Deliveries

Silent-Aire, a our company subsidiary that builds modular data center cooling systems, is looking for a local delivery driver to serve its Edmonton-area plants in Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Nisku. You'll run a rotating continental day shift hauling company products between these facilities and customer sites.

What you'll haul

• You'll drive vans, light trucks and a 1-ton vehicle pulling a 30 to 40 foot trailer, plus a 5-ton box van

• Loads are manufacturing materials moving within the Edmonton region

What you'll do

• Load, secure and unload freight using dollies, lifts and other equipment

• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel, deliveries and any issues on the road

• Stay in contact with dispatch and report mechanical problems or accidents right away

• Inspect your vehicle and load before, during and after each trip

• Handle paperwork, maintenance scheduling and vehicle cleaning

• Pitch in on other department tasks when you're not driving

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 license with a clean driving abstract

• At least one year of commercial driving experience

• Must qualify for bonding and TDG (dangerous goods) certification

• Comfortable handling a 1-ton truck with a long trailer and a 5-ton box van around loading docks

• Forklift skills and a defensive driving course are a plus

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
