Local Class 1 Truck Driver — $28.00–$30.00/hr

Our company in Kelowna, BC is looking for a Class 1 driver to haul freight around the Okanagan-Kootenay area, with one longer run each week. You'll keep loads moving safely and on time while handling the paperwork and communication that go with it.

Pay

• $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Routes

• Local runs through the Okanagan-Kootenay region

• One trip per week covers a longer distance in that area

What you'll do

• Drive a Class 1 truck on local and longer routes, following traffic laws and safety rules

• Load and unload freight, using a forklift or other equipment when needed, and secure it properly

• Check the truck over before each trip to catch mechanical or safety problems early

• Keep delivery logs, freight manifests and inspection reports up to date

• Stay in touch with dispatch, customers and coworkers to keep schedules on track and sort out issues quickly

• Handle basic repairs or troubleshoot minor mechanical issues so the truck stays road-ready

• Follow company safety policies at every step to avoid accidents

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record

• Solid background in commercial driving and freight hauling

• Comfortable and safe operating equipment like forklifts

• Basic know-how for troubleshooting minor vehicle problems

• Good grasp of safety practices for truck operation and freight handling

• Strong communication skills for working with dispatch and customers

• Physically able to load and unload freight regularly and work outdoors in different weather
