Local CDL-B Driver — $30.78–$35.64/hr

Our company is hiring a Class B driver in Orange, CT for local pickup and delivery runs between service centers and customers, including freight handling and hazmat shipments.

Pay

• $30.78 to $35.64 per hour

• If you're assigned linehaul duties, you'll also earn per-mile pay plus fixed amounts for certain linehaul tasks

What you'll haul

• Straight truck operation in a multi-temperature environment

• Freight requiring hazmat placarding and handling

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class B with hazmat and tank endorsements (hazmat endorsement needed within 120 days of hire)

• At least 1 year of experience driving a straight truck or similar vehicle in the last 3 years, or completion of our company's Driver Development Course

• Minimum age 21

• Acceptable driving record

• Able to lift and carry freight up to 100 lbs, and perform physical tasks like bending, twisting, and climbing in/out of the truck

What you'll do

• Pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers

• Secure loads with pallets, straps, and rope

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections

• Communicate with dispatch on delays, arrivals, and equipment issues

• Load and unload freight, sometimes using a forklift or pallet jack

• Handle required paperwork and documentation

• Chain tires when needed
