Local CDL-A Yard Driver — Home Daily, $20.75–$22.75/hr

Work as a yard jockey for our company in Monmouth, IL, shuttling trailers within a single yard location. You stay on site for the whole shift, with no highway miles and no customer stops.

What the job looks like

• You're based at one yard for your full shift, so there's no over-the-road driving or heavy traffic

• Freight isn't touched by you, and there are no multi-stop customer runs

• The work is repetitive and predictable, with set hours each day

• You go home every day

Pay

• Starting pay is $20.75 per hour, with a range up to $22.75 per hour

• A $2.00 shift differential applies

• Overtime is available once you pass 40 hours in a week

• Paychecks come weekly, with benefit options included

• Referring someone who gets hired and stays can earn you up to $2,000

What you'll do

• Move trailers safely between spots in the yard using company trucks, following CDL rules and Lazer's procedures

• Check your vehicle before and during shifts to confirm it's safe to operate

• Follow safety rules and all relevant federal, state and industry regulations

• Handle equipment and trailers carefully to meet customer requirements

• Stay in contact with dispatch, coworkers and any vendors on site, and keep accurate records of your hours, movements and any incidents

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Solid track record driving under a Class A CDL, with a clean MVR

• Current DOT physical and medical card

• Familiarity with truck driving rules that apply on both public roads and private sites like distribution centers

• Comfortable working long hours in different weather

• Good organizational, time-management and communication skills

• Able to physically get in and out of the truck repeatedly throughout the shift
