About this job
Our company is hiring a Local Yard Driver in McDonough, GA to shuttle trailers within a single yard location, with no highway driving and no customer stops. You'll work a consistent, predictable schedule and be home every day.
Pay
- $22.00 per hour, paid weekly
- Overtime available after 40 hours
- Up to $2,000 for every referral hired and retained
Home time
- Home daily with a consistent schedule
What you'll haul
- Trailers moved within the yard and between dock doors, using drop and hook methods
- No multi-stop routes or customer deliveries, and no freight handling
What you'll do
- Shuttle trailers around the yard
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Follow safety rules and company procedures
- Stay in contact with dispatch and yard staff
- Keep accurate logs and paperwork
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current DOT medical card
- Clean driving history
- Prior tractor-trailer experience
- Able to work outdoors in any weather
- Able to get in and out of the truck repeatedly through the shift
