Local CDL-A Truck Driver — Home Daily, Poultry Transport

Our company is hiring a local CDL-A driver to move goods, equipment and live poultry between company sites and farms in the Upper Cumberland area, with occasional overnight runs into North Alabama. This is mostly a Monday through Friday schedule, driving tractor-trailers and smaller trucks while following DOT rules and strict biosecurity practices.

What you'll do

• Haul freight and equipment between facilities and farms on set routes and schedules

• Load and secure cargo before each trip

• Run pre-trip and post-trip checks on tires, brakes, lights, fluids and other components

• Keep accurate logs, mileage and fuel records for DOT compliance

• Disinfect your truck between farm stops to protect against disease spread

• Stay in contact with dispatch about delays or schedule changes

• Help out with farm and hatchery tasks occasionally

• Keep your truck washed and well maintained, flagging any issues right away

Requirements

• Class A CDL with at least 2 years of verifiable driving experience and a clean record

• At least 21 years old

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience hauling live poultry is a plus

• Comfortable working alone and outdoors in any weather

• Able to sit and drive up to 10 hours a shift, climb in and out of cabs, and lift up to 50 lbs

• Due to biosecurity concerns, you cannot own any birds

Work conditions

Most routes stay local to the Upper Cumberland area, with occasional overnight trips to North Alabama. Expect exposure to weather, dust and farm settings, plus regular bending, climbing and lifting.
