About this job
Our company in Hickory, NC 28601 needs a local Class A driver to shuttle trailers between plant locations. The work is close to home with daily runs and plenty of hands-on trailer handling.
What you'll do
- Perform pre-trip checks before heading out and back on local routes
- Connect and disconnect trailers from the tractor throughout the day
- Keep bills of lading and trailer movement records accurate and complete
- Pitch in on loading or unloading freight when needed
Requirements
- 3 years of verifiable experience driving tractor trailers
- A valid Class A CDL in good standing
- Comfortable counting freight correctly
- Solid communication skills and sound judgment on the job
- Able to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, walk, stand and climb throughout your shift
- Able to lift or move 50 pounds or more, plus push, pull and reach overhead
