About this job
Our company needs a local CDL-A driver for its Aurora, IL facility. You will run pickups and deliveries on the 2nd shift and be home every day. The work supports the company's mail sorting operation.
Pay
- $28.00 per hour, with overtime on top
- Paid weekly
Schedule and home time
- Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm
- Training runs 12pm to 6pm for the first 1-2 days
- You are home daily
- Mandatory overtime may come up, including weekends, holidays or a different shift, sometimes on short notice
What you'll do
- Log your mileage, stops and cargo on a route sheet or the ELD
- Make pickups and deliveries on time with the help of software tools
- Keep your truck and work area tidy
- Follow the company's safety and security rules
- Show up regularly and use the required phone apps
Equipment
- Clean, late model tractors and trailers
- Little freight handling
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL that meets DOT rules
- At least 21 years old
- 6 months of verifiable driving experience within the last 5 years and a safe record
- Able to lift 50 lbs and to walk, stand, stoop and bend, with or without accommodations
- Enough English to talk with the public, read road signs and fill out reports
