Local CDL-A Shuttle Driver — $240/Day, Home Daily

Shuttle empty trailers between two yards just 4.5 miles apart in Joliet, IL. This is a no-freight, drop-and-hook role with short, predictable 8-hour shifts and you're home every day.

Pay

• Target pay of $240 per day, which includes an on-time bonus

• $1,000 sign-on bonus

• An extra $500 Monthly Contractor Support Allowance (about $6,000 a year), paid as 1099 nonemployee compensation, not insurance or a benefit plan

Schedule

• Shift runs 6PM to 2AM, Monday through Friday

• Weekend work is rare and only called in when extra help is needed

• You're back home every day

What you'll haul

• Empty trailers only, no freight and no paperwork

• You hook up at the main lot, drive about 12 minutes to the second lot, then return and repeat the loop for your shift

Requirements

• Valid CDL A

• At least 1 year of Class A driving experience, with verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months

• Clean driving history

• Must pass a drug screen and background check

• Current DOT medical card

• Comfortable driving both manual and automatic transmissions

What the job involves

You'll move trailers safely between yards, keep in touch with dispatch and your supervisor, do pre- and post-trip inspections, log your hours on the ELD, track the trailers you move each shift, hang on to fuel receipts, and flag any mechanical issues, tickets, or accidents right away. Keeping the truck clean and road-ready is part of the job too.
