Local CDL-A Reefer Driver — $0.66/Mile Plus Stop and Hourly Pay

This is a local, dedicated reefer route out of Salem, VA, hauling refrigerated grocery freight for Kroger. You'll be home every day, with steady activity-based pay and union benefits including a pension.

Pay

• Mileage rate: $0.66 per mile

• First-stop pay: $44

• Hourly rate: $27.80

• Guaranteed 44-hour workweek

• Annual pay increases

• Average pay works out to roughly $100,000 per year, or about $1,923 per week

Home time

• Home daily, with at least a 34-hour reset built into your week

• Weekend work is part of the schedule

• You'll stay on call until midnight before your day off

• Routes are assigned first-in, first-out, with seniority drivers able to bid on routes twice a year

What you'll haul

• Refrigerated grocery freight in reefer trailers

• You'll use an electric pallet jack to help with deliveries

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• At least 9 months of tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years

• Minimum age 22

• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years

• No more than 1 preventable DOT-recordable accident in the last 3 years

• Must have a profile in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse before starting

• Able to meet English language requirements for signs, communication and reports

• Clean driving record and valid DOT medical card

• SAP drivers not accepted
