About this job
Our company is an asset-based carrier handling pickup, delivery and linehaul freight for west coast air cargo customers, operating between cities like SFO, LAX, SEA and others since 1985. They're hiring a full-time local driver based in Burien, WA to handle customer pickups and drop-offs around Seattle.
Pay
- $34.00 per hour
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
What you'll haul
- Shipments picked up and delivered at customer sites in the Seattle area
- You may also be asked to operate a box truck when needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience
- Valid DOT medical card
- Clean driving record: no more than two violations and one preventable accident in the last 3 years
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Hazmat endorsement is a plus but not mandatory
What the job involves
- Representing the company professionally with customers
- Following DOT and Washington State Patrol rules
- Completing pre- and post-trip equipment checks
- Handling paperwork and signatures for each stop
- Staying in contact with dispatch about delays or issues
- Reporting any accidents or equipment problems right away
- Keeping the truck clean and fueled
- Occasional overtime as needed
