Our company is looking for a local Pickup & Delivery (P&D) driver in Durham, NC to run a tractor-trailer on local routes, serving customers face-to-face on a regular basis.

What you'll do

• Pick up and deliver freight on local routes

• Couple and uncouple trailers, hook up lines, and adjust equipment as needed

• Inspect your vehicle before and after trips

• Oversee loading and unloading of cargo

• Keep transport paperwork accurate and compliant, including documentation for hazardous materials

• Navigate tight spaces and heavy traffic safely

• Report any incidents or delays promptly

• Follow all safety rules and company policies while representing the company professionally with customers

Requirements

• At least 6 months of driving experience (1 year preferred)

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid CDL with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers endorsements, with no automatic transmission restriction

• At least 21 years old

• Able to read, understand and write in English, do basic math, handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and keep accurate driving logs

• Strong working knowledge of DOT rules on safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections and hazmat transport, and full compliance with them

• Must meet DOT physical requirements and pass drug and alcohol screening
