This local CDL A job in Bristol, CT has you picking up empty bottles and cans from redemption centers and bag-collection sites, hauling them in 48ft rail-gate dry vans. You're home daily on a steady Monday-Friday schedule with occasional seasonal Saturday work.
Pay
- $28/hr, with overtime after 40 hours
- Peak season (May-September) runs 50-60 hours/week, with typical days around 10 hours
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, starting between 5:00-7:00 AM
- Saturdays are occasional and optional during peak season, except two mandatory Saturdays: the one after Memorial Day and the one after July 4th
What you'll haul
- Empty bottles and cans in 48ft rail-gate dry vans
- Local routes only, no overnights
- 4 stops per day, picking up from redemption centers and designated bag-collection sites
Responsibilities
- Identify, tag, and load bags of recyclable containers
- Lift and carry bags up to 50 lbs, usually 5-6 at a time, by hand
- Load the trailer; warehouse staff handle unloading
- Communicate route progress or issues to dispatch
- Follow DOT, safety, and company procedures
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license
- Able to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to work 50-60 hours/week during peak season, including the two mandatory post-holiday Saturdays
