Local CDL-A Delivery Driver — Home Daily, $38.70–$40.70/hr

QCD is hiring a local Class A CDL driver for the Chicago East area, delivering food products to restaurants and getting home every day. This is a touch-freight role with a set 4-on/3-off schedule.

What you'll do

• Drive a diesel tractor-trailer on local, no-layover routes

• Load and unload deliveries yourself using hand trucks or pallet jacks

• Handle returns and keep equipment and loads compliant

• Do pre- and post-trip inspections, keep DOT logs current, and turn in accurate paperwork

• Stay in regular contact with dispatch, store staff, and teammates

Schedule

• Shifts start between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, running 10 to 14 hours

• 4 days on, 3 days off, with nights, weekends, and holidays required as part of 24/7 operations

• Drivers typically log 40 to 50 hours per week

• Trailers have lift gates, not ramps, and freight involves repetitive lifting over 75 lbs.

Pay

• $38.70/hr on weekdays, $40.70/hr on weekends

• Extra premium for a 5th and 6th day worked

• Paid weekly, every Friday

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card

• At least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving and delivery experience

• Able to lift between 5 and 75+ lbs. and stay active through the shift, including work in coolers and freezers

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Able to read and speak English per DOT rules

• Open availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
