About this job
Our company, a family-run fleet based off Pritchard Rd in Jacksonville, FL, is looking for local drivers to run intermodal container freight on regional lanes. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with home time every day.
What you'll haul
- 40-foot intermodal containers, 100% drop and hook both ways
- Runs between Jacksonville FL and Savannah GA, and Jacksonville FL and Ocala FL
- Freight moves from CSX and NS rail yards and GPA to customers, available 24/7
- Equipment is a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia with manual transmission
Home time
You'll be home every day. Drivers who already live in the Jacksonville, FL area with a Florida driver's license are especially encouraged to apply.
Pay
As a 1099 independent contractor, you're paid 50% of the net settlement amount. Typical weekly earnings run between $1,200 and $1,550, though posted pay for the role is listed as $1,736.85 to $2,034.27 per week. A flat $20.54 weekly deduction covers occupational accident insurance.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A
- TWIC card required
- Manual transmission experience only
- 5+ years of dry van experience preferred
- Must pass MVR check, background check and drug test
- Reliable, on-time drivers only
