Local CDL-A City Driver — $31.32/hr

Our company is hiring a local City Driver in Saint George, UT to move freight between service centers and customers. Pay starts at $31.32 an hour.

Pay

• Starting rate of pay $31.32 an hour

What you'll haul

• General LTL freight moved between service centers and customer locations

• You may operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable, or straight trucks

Responsibilities

• Run pre-trip and safety checks on your equipment

• Hook and unhook trailers and converter dollies

• Load and secure freight with a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, pallets, straps and rope

• Handle paperwork, hazardous materials procedures, and any required freight charge collection

• Stay in contact with dispatch on delays, arrivals and equipment issues, and work directly with customers on pickups, deliveries and new business leads

• Chain tires when needed and occasionally fill in on road driver or dock duties

Requirements

• Class A CDL with doubles/triples, hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction okay); the hazmat endorsement can be completed within 120 days of your offer

• One year of driving experience in the past three years, or completion of our company's Driver Development Course

• Clean enough motor vehicle record to meet hiring standards, and must satisfy DOT qualification rules under FMCSR Part 391

• Comfortable with basic math, clear communication, and lifting freight up to 100 pounds multiple times a week

• Able to sit for long stretches and climb, bend, twist and squat as needed
