Local CDL-A/B Waste Collection Driver — $36.40/hr

WM has an opening for a local CDL truck driver in Chicago, IL, handling waste and recycling pickup on a full-time day shift. The route runs five days a week and includes weekend work.

Pay

• $36.40 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time day shift, 5 days a week

• You'll need to be available on weekends

What you'll haul

• Waste or recyclable materials from homes, businesses, or industrial sites, driving a heavy-duty truck fitted with a front, side, or rear loading arm

What you'll do

• Check your truck before and after each run and file the needed inspection paperwork

• Maneuver through narrow streets, alleys, and parking areas, backing with precision

• Flag any safety concerns, incidents, or missed stops to your supervisor

• Wrap up your shift with the required daily paperwork

Requirements

• Class A or Class B CDL with an air-brake endorsement

• A minimum of 1 year behind the wheel under a CDL, or 1 year of comparable military driving experience within the past 7 years

• At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US

• Strong enough English skills, spoken and written, to handle the job

• Ability to pass a drug test and physical exam before starting

• A high school diploma or GED is a plus, not a must
