Local CDL-A/B Crane Truck Driver — Home Daily

SRS Building Products in Asheville, NC is looking for a CDL driver who can also run a crane to deliver building materials to job sites. You'll handle the truck, the crane and often a forklift, while keeping everything DOT-compliant and well documented.

What you'll do

• Deliver building materials within a 200-mile radius of the branch, following DOT rules and company procedures

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks

• Operate the crane and forklift, working with rooftop loaders so deliveries go smoothly and without damage

• Check inventory, photograph completed deliveries, and look over job sites for hazards

• Talk directly with customers on site and pitch in with warehouse and yard upkeep

Home time

All routes start and finish at the home branch, so you're back home every night with no overnight trips.

Physical demands

Expect to lift as much as 100 pounds, work outside in all kinds of weather, climb ladders, get into tight spaces, and deal with loud equipment noise. You'll need to safely run commercial trucks and cranes as part of daily duties.

Requirements

• Valid CDL with an air brakes endorsement

• Able to perform routine vehicle maintenance and safety inspections

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems

• Experience running conveyor belts, knuckle booms, or crane-mounted trucks

• Forklift experience (certification is a plus)

• Familiarity with DOT and OSHA rules

• Comfortable reading, writing and speaking English

• Able to inspect job sites and report back on conditions

• Clean driving history — no hit-and-run, DWI or DUI in the last 36 months

• Must pass a background check and drug screening

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1-2 years of experience preferred; prior commercial driving experience is a strong plus, as is a background in distribution or forklift work

Certifications

• Current DOT medical card

• NCCCO Crane Certification (ABC/ABL) is required

• Certifications for truck crane, telescopic boom fixed cab, boom truck fixed cab, or articulating boom crane are preferred but not required

Preferred extras include hands-on crane operating experience, strong route-planning skills, and comfort with digital inventory tools, though these aren't mandatory.
