Livestock Truck Driver — $28–$32/hr, Owensboro to Rantoul

Haul hogs from a farm in Owensboro, KY to a processing plant in Rantoul, Indiana. You'll load animals in the morning and unload them safely at the plant, keeping schedules and safety top of mind.

What you'll haul

• Livestock (hogs), loaded at the farm and unloaded at the plant

• Route runs from Owensboro, KY to Rantoul, Indiana

• You'll help load about 175-180 hogs each morning and unload them at the plant, making sure all arrive alive and the process stays safe

What you'll do

• Drive a semi-truck and trailer, following traffic laws and company rules

• Watch for traffic issues and adjust your route to stay on schedule and arrive safely

• Follow safety rules and emergency procedures for transporting livestock

• Check in with the dispatch manager if problems come up

• Inspect your vehicle before and after each trip and report any mechanical problems right away

Requirements

• CDL Class A preferred but not required; appropriate endorsements for the vehicle and load are a plus

• At least 3 years driving large commercial vehicles

• Clean driving history with a solid safety record

• Familiarity with state and local traffic laws and transportation safety rules

• Good English communication skills; speaking more than one language is a plus

• Basic mechanical know-how to handle simple troubleshooting on the road

• Comfortable reacting fast to changing traffic and rerouting when needed

Pay

$28.00-$32.00 per hour, with expected hours of 50-60 per week
