Light Duty Tow Truck Driver — $25/hr

Our company in Ashland, VA 23059 is looking for a Light Duty Tow Truck Driver to handle roadside calls, accident recovery, and abandoned vehicle pickups in the area. It's an active, safety-focused position, and you may also pitch in with shop and yard duties when call volume is light.

Pay

• $25 an hour

• You can qualify for guaranteed pay, but it depends on keeping a clean driving record, holding a current DCJS card and DOT medical card, covering every scheduled shift (nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call time included), and staying free of disciplinary write-ups or preventable damage claims

What you'll do

• Handle calls for roadside help, accident recovery, and abandoned vehicles

• Run recovery gear including chains, straps, wheel-lifts, winches, and dollies

• Fill out service tickets and other paperwork completely and on time

• Stay in contact with dispatch, customers, police, and your coworkers

• Pitch in on shop work, yard upkeep, facility cleaning, and detailing vehicles between calls

• Work a flexible schedule of 10-12 hour shifts, covering nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations

Requirements

• A driver's license valid for the vehicle you'll operate

• Must meet DOT qualification standards for drivers

• Driving record clean enough to satisfy company and insurance requirements

• Able to pass a background check and drug screen

• Willing to get a DCJS registration and DOT medical card if you don't already have them

• Towing background (wheel-lift or flatbed) is a plus, though the company will train you

• Comfortable with basic mechanical tasks and solid communication skills

• Capable of lifting as much as 50 pounds, working outside in any weather, and staying on your feet for long stretches
