Experienced DZ Tandem Truck Driver — $35–$40/hr

A snow removal company with several large contracts is looking for experienced DZ drivers to run manual-transmission tandem trucks on winter maintenance work in the Vaughan, Ontario area. You will salt, plow and haul snow, and you need to be ready to go when bad weather hits.

Pay

• $35.00 to $40.00 per hour

• A performance bonus is also offered (no amount stated)

What you'll do

• Spread salt on parking lots and other assigned areas with a tandem truck

• Check your sites, judge conditions and report snow or ice problems

• Help clear and haul away piled snow when assigned

• Stick to your assigned routes and instructions so jobs finish safely and on schedule

• Handle service calls and spots that need extra attention

• Stay in contact with supervisors, dispatch and your crew during every shift

• Inspect your vehicle daily and report any damage or mechanical issues right away

• Use your smartphone to send in work reports, hours and photos

Requirements

• Valid DZ licence and a driver's abstract in good standing

• At least 3 years driving on a DZ licence, including tandem trucks

• Confident with manual transmission tandem trucks, with no training needed

• Past experience salting with truck-mounted spreaders

• A smartphone that can handle digital reports and photo uploads

• Open to on-call work, including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays

• Comfortable working outside in the cold and doing physical tasks

• Able to follow directions, work on your own and communicate clearly
