About this job
Our company needs a DZ-licensed delivery driver in Parry Sound, ON to run a 5 ton cube/straight truck. The job is a temporary position that could turn into permanent full-time work. You will be on the road making parcel, mail and product deliveries as part of a busy team.
Pay
- Starts at $20.50 per hour
What you'll do
- Drive a 5 ton cube/straight truck along your assigned routes
- Load, handle and deliver parcels, mail and other goods safely
- Handle customer pick-ups, deliveries, depot transfers and scheduled assignments on time
- Check your vehicle for safety every day and record the condition of the products
- Treat customers with courtesy and professionalism and pitch in with the team
Schedule
- Days can run up to 10 hours
- Shifts fall anywhere Monday through Sunday, and you must be available on weekends
- Be ready to adjust to business needs
Requirements
- Valid DZ or GZ licence
- At least 3 years of commercial driving, backed by an experience letter
- Clean driver's abstract and CVOR; the application asks whether your abstract has been clear for the past 5 years
- Clear criminal background check with fingerprint clearance
- 5 years or more of Canadian residential history
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Able to lift, carry and push up to 70 lbs
- Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
