About this job
Our company is a family-owned company near Toronto Pearson Airport, running same-day dock-to-dock deliveries across the GTA for more than 45 years. It is hiring full-time drivers for a 20' straight truck (G licence) and a 26' truck (DZ or AZ licence). Pay starts at $23.00 per hour, on payroll.
Pay
- From $23.00 per hour, on payroll only (not through a corporation)
- Roughly 45-50 hours per week
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, about 7:30am to 5pm/6pm
- Some after-hours deliveries depending on customer demand
- Yard and office are in Etobicoke, Ontario
What you'll do
- Drive an automatic 20'-26' straight truck carrying large skids of air freight on same-day runs around the GTA, including downtown Toronto and sometimes a bit further
- Load, unload and secure freight using a manual pump truck
- Stay in touch with dispatch by 2-way radio or cellphone
- Complete daily pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections plus your logbook
- Keep customers happy with professional service
Requirements
- 26' truck: DZ or AZ licence with at least 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, with references (an AZ licence may also mean some AZ truck work)
- 20' truck: Full G licence
- At least 5 years of general local driving experience
- Age 25 or older for insurance
- Already living in the GTA, with legal working status in Canada
- Clean driver's abstract, CVOR and police check
- Able to lift 50 lbs and push and pull a pump truck all day
- New drivers cannot be considered
