About this job
Our company is looking for dependable DZ drivers with flexible availability to run a 26-foot refrigerated straight truck. You will cover local deliveries across the GTA and nearby areas, regional LTL runs within Ontario, and the occasional interprovincial trip.
Pay
- From $4,200.00 per month
What you'll haul
- Chilled and frozen freight in a 26-foot reefer straight truck
- Local GTA routes, regional LTL pickups and deliveries in Ontario, and some longer interprovincial trips
Your day-to-day
- Inspect the truck before and after each trip and record the results
- Set and watch reefer temperatures so freight meets its requirements
- Load, unload and secure freight, using the tailgate and pallet jack
- Follow dispatch directions and keep dispatch posted on delays or customer issues
- Collect signatures, finish delivery paperwork and keep logs accurate
- Report vehicle defects, refrigeration problems and maintenance needs right away
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence
- Two years or more of truck driving or delivery experience
- Clean driver's abstract, CVOR and criminal record check
- Hands-on reefer experience, including temperature setting and monitoring
- Availability that can shift with start times, routes and schedules
- Good knowledge of GTA roads, regulations and road safety
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs when needed
- Solid communication, time management and customer service skills
