About this job
Our company is looking for a DZ delivery driver in Ottawa, ON to run multiple deliveries and pick-ups in a 5 ton box truck. It is a weekday, early-start position paying by the hour.
Pay
- $25.50 to $30.01 per hour
- Expect roughly 40 to 60 hours a week
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Shifts begin between 5:30 and 7 AM
- Work is done in person at the Ottawa location
What you'll do
- Drive the box truck and run several drops and pick-ups per day
- Inspect the vehicle and load before, during and after each trip
- Plan the trip, collect the paperwork for the goods and keep the dispatcher informed
- Secure and handle cargo according to safety rules
- Fill out daily logs, delivery receipts and inspection and hours-of-service records
- Report defects, accidents, violations or damage, and flag customer, mechanical or delivery problems to management
- Keep the truck clean and do minor repairs
- Follow rules on safe operation, hours of service, workplace safety, dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
Requirements
- A valid DZ licence
- A clean driver's abstract
- Able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Background in multi-stop deliveries and pick-ups
