About this job
Our company, working with Apex Motor Express, needs a dependable commercial driver to move freight on set routes out of Hamilton, ON. You'll need at least 3 years of verified commercial driving experience in Canada, no more than 3 demerit points or convictions on your abstract, and either an AZ or DZ licence (a G class licence won't qualify).
Pay
- $176.00-$184.00 per day
What you'll do
- Drive an AZ or DZ rated truck to pick up and deliver freight
- Load and unload using a pallet jack and tailgate lift
- Strap down and secure cargo so it travels without damage
- Check your vehicle before each trip and handle minor upkeep
- Keep logs and paperwork current for every stop
- Stay in contact with dispatch and customers about timing and any issues
- Pitch in on warehouse tasks when needed
Requirements
- At least 3 years of verified commercial driving experience in Canada
- Clean abstract: no more than 3 demerit points or a conviction
- Valid AZ or DZ licence (G class not accepted)
- Comfortable with basic vehicle troubleshooting and heavy equipment
