About this job
Our company in Seymour, CT is looking for a reliable dump truck driver to haul materials like gravel, sand and debris to job sites. This is a 1099 position with part-time and full-time hours available, on both day and night shifts. Retired drivers are welcome to apply.
Pay
- $25.39 to $30.58 per hour

What you'll haul
- Bulk materials such as gravel, sand, debris and other loose loads
- Deliveries support construction, landscaping and waste management sites
What you'll do
- Drive dump trucks safely, following traffic laws and safety rules
- Load and unload materials, using equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks when needed
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and keep up with maintenance needs
- Plan efficient routes to hit pickup and drop-off times
- Stay in touch with dispatch and site managers about delivery progress or problems on the road
- Keep accurate records of hours worked, materials moved and inspection results
Requirements
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements matching the equipment you'll drive
- Background operating dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles commercially
- Comfortable with different trailer types, including flatbed, refrigerated, tanker and roll-off
- Experience loading, unloading and managing freight on delivery routes
- Able to run auxiliary equipment like forklifts for loading tasks
- Understanding of safety practices for driving, handling materials and following road rules
- Delivery driving experience is a plus but not required if you're willing to learn the job
