Delivery Driver — Red Deer, AB — $24.00/hr

Our company in Red Deer, AB is looking for a driver to handle pick-up and delivery on an assigned route, checking shipments and helping customers along the way.

Pay

• $24.00 per hour

What you'll do

• Pick up and deliver packages safely and professionally, keeping a neat, presentable appearance

• Accurately sort and inspect your assigned packages, and report stop counts and missorts

• Load your van, plan an efficient route, and follow courier best practices and operating procedures

• Keep company and customer property, equipment and vehicles secure

• Spot and pass along sales leads or market changes to the sales team

• Make sure packages meet our company's service standards, with correct labels, complete paperwork and enough shipping supplies for customers

• Use computerized tracking and dispatch systems, entering information correctly

• Answer customer questions about our company's services, including Canada, US and international requirements

• Know the service features and equipment you work with

• Drive safely and follow all government and company rules

• Depending on location and workload, you may also load or unload aircraft or containers and scan packages

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• One year of customer-facing work experience is preferred

• Familiarity with our company operations and Canadian customs rules is a plus

• Able to lift 70 lbs and move packages up to 150 lbs with the right equipment

• Must pass the required pre-employment driving assessment

• Strong people and communication skills, good organization and time management, and solid customer service

• Comfortable multitasking and staying calm under pressure

• Drivers must hold a valid licence (for example Class 5, G or 1/AZ) with no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months, and will be assessed on their driving record, interview, and driving test results

• In Quebec, bilingual French and English is required
