Class DZ Vacuum & Pressure Truck Operator — $27–$31/hr

Our company is hiring a permanent, full-time Class DZ Driver/Operator for pressure and vacuum work at its Nanticoke, Ontario location. Most of your day is spent on the ground running industrial cleaning equipment rather than behind the wheel. No accommodation or travel will be provided.

Pay

• $27 - $31 per hour, 40 hours per week

• Wage goes up each year on March 1

• Benefits and a pension through International Union of Operating Engineers - Local 793 start after 1040 hours worked

What you'll do

• Run and maintain vacuum trucks, high pressure/water trucks, combo units and specialty tools; other equipment may come up depending on what the client asks for

• Spend about 90% of the day outside the truck, hands-on

• Work at heights up to 100 meters and climb into small vessels and tanks, with an experienced crew backing you up

• Rig specialty equipment in and out

• Fill out pre-trip checks, inspections, job reports and safety documents

• Guide laborers when needed and follow your supervisor's direction

• Work outdoors in all kinds of weather, with a new work scope from one day to the next

Requirements

• Valid Class DZ licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years

• Comfortable with manual transmissions; you will take our company's Driver Assessment on a 10, 13 or 18 speed

• Negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

• Able to travel around the region, be on call and keep a flexible schedule

• Your own reliable transportation to site

• Strong mechanical aptitude and a safety-first attitude

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, climb several flights of stairs and carry equipment

• Comfortable in a full face mask with your own air supply

• Nice to have: fluid hauling, vacuum or high pressure experience, industrial site experience, and familiarity with Imperial Oil's loss prevention system
