About this job
Our company in Barrie, ON needs a Class D driver for a tandem dump truck. You will haul aggregates, tow trailers, and load and unload equipment. Mechanical know-how is a plus.
Pay and hours
- $23.00-$33.00 per hour
- Roughly 35 to 45 hours a week
- Work is on site, in person
What you'll do
- Drive assigned routes safely and follow the rules of the road
- Check the truck before and after each trip and report any problems
- Handle simple automotive repairs when it makes sense
- Load, secure, haul and unload freight, using a forklift or other heavy equipment when needed and within your skill level
- Keep clear, accurate trip and freight records and pass delivery updates to your coworkers
What we're looking for
- Solid commercial driving ability and safe freight handling
- Careful attention to the condition of your vehicle
- Good communication
- A plus: earlier truck-driving experience, heavy equipment know-how or basic auto repair skills
