About this job
Our company, a locally owned lumber and building supply company in Headingley, MB, is hiring full-time Class 5 Delivery Drivers for a Monday-to-Friday schedule with occasional overtime. Pay depends on your experience level.
What you'll do
- Bring building materials out to customer job sites and collect pickups from vendors as directed by shipping
- Retrieve leftover materials from sites and fill out the necessary paperwork
- Make sure every order is counted, loaded, unloaded and secured correctly and safely
- Keep shipping updated with timely information
- Represent the company with professionalism, courtesy and punctuality
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 (5F) driver's licence
- A driver's abstract from within the past 3 months
- Capable of physical work, including repeated bending and lifting over 50 lbs
- Fluent English speaking and writing skills
- Forklift certification is a plus, with in-house training offered
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding setting
- Dependable, organized and punctual with a solid attendance record
- Own reliable transportation, since this route isn't served by bus
Working conditions
You'll be outside year-round in all weather and dusty conditions, so safety boots and gear are mandatory in this fast-paced, high-volume operation.
