About this job
Our company (Wholesale) Ltd. in Headingley, MB needs experienced Boom Truck Drivers for full-time, permanent work. You'll boom-load, haul and deliver building materials to job sites, combining driving with physical labour.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, full-time, with occasional overtime
Pay
- Wage depends on your experience
What you'll haul
- Roofing supplies, shingles, drywall and other building materials, delivered daily to customer and vendor sites using the boom truck
What you'll do
- Load, secure and unload materials safely, following proper procedures
- Make sure orders are filled and loaded correctly before heading out
- Pick up leftover materials from job sites when asked, and handle the paperwork for that
- Fill out all delivery paperwork accurately and on time, flagging any shortages or changes
- Keep company vehicles clean and well maintained
- Take on other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Valid Class 3 licence with Air endorsement
- 2 years' experience driving manual transmission
- 1 year of crane and rigging experience, plus a crane and rigging certification
- 1 year of boom truck experience
- A driver's abstract dated within the last 3 months
- Comfortable with daily physical work, including lifting over 50 lbs and repeated bending
- Fluent in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills
- Able to handle a fast-paced, demanding workday
- Reliable, punctual and organized, with good attendance and a dependable vehicle to get to this non-bus-route location
- Building materials delivery experience is a plus
- Fall protection certification is a plus; training provided if you don't have it
- Forklift certification is a plus, with in-house training available
Working conditions
- Outdoor work year-round, exposed to dust and all weather
- Safety boots and other safety gear required
