About this job
Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, part of N.P.A., needs a Class 3 Water Truck Driver for its highway crew in Grande Prairie, AB. You'll keep road construction sites properly watered down while handling related equipment duties.
What you'll do
- Run the water truck safely, including start-up, operation and shutdown
- Check equipment daily for safety and mechanical condition, watching fluid levels and overall performance
- Fill the tank and spray water across assigned work zones as directed by your supervisor
- Help train new hires on proper water truck operation
- Operate other heavy equipment and pitch in on construction tasks as needed
- Follow the company's Code of Ethics in your day-to-day work
Requirements
- Class 3 driver's licence
- 3 to 5 years running a water truck
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Familiarity with road construction materials, methods and industry standards
- Experience with other heavy equipment is a plus
- Able to lift and carry 50 LBS regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, humidity, dust, asphalt fumes and rough weather
- Willing to wear required PPE and pass drug and alcohol testing
Schedule
Monday through Saturday, up to 12 hours a day depending on weather. Overtime pays out per standard employment law.
