Class 3 Roll-Off Truck Driver — $33.64/hr

WM in Kelowna, BC is looking for a Roll-Off Driver to haul large open-top and compactor containers to and from customer sites. You'll work Monday through Saturday, starting at 5:30am.

What you'll haul

• Large mobile open-top and compactor containers picked up from customer locations

• Routes may include industrial sites, alleyways, lots and busy roads, sometimes with low overhead clearance

• Strong backing skills are needed for this work

What you'll do

• Prep, load and transport containers while following WM's safety rules and all DOT and local regulations

• Check your truck before and after each trip and log it on the standard inspection report

• Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, damage or service issues to your manager or dispatch right away

• Let dispatch know about blocked routes, overweight containers or other service interruptions, and pass along customer requests

• Leave each site clean and fully emptied, and complete your paperwork at the end of the day

• Join required training sessions and meetings, and help cover other routes when needed

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience driving a vehicle requiring a Class 3 license or higher, or 1 year of equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years

• Minimum age 18

• Legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN

• Current DZ or Class 3 license or higher

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical exam and background check, including past employment verification and a review of your driving record

• Acceptable driving history required

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Crane ticket certification is a plus

Physical demands

The job involves standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing. This is a safety-sensitive role, so you'll need to follow all safety procedures and may be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including before hire, after incidents, on reasonable suspicion, or at random.
