About this job
Our company Group in Surrey, BC is looking for a Class 3 driver to operate a front end garbage truck. This is a full-time, permanent position paying $37.82 per hour.
What you'll do
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to keep the truck safe and compliant
- Load waste bins into the vehicle's containment system
- Dump loaded trucks at approved facilities after collection
- Drive, load and unload safely at all times
- Report incidents promptly and fill out the required paperwork
- Follow the company's health and safety rules and safe work practices
- Clean the truck at the end of your shift so it's ready for the next one
- Stay professional and courteous with customers, coworkers and supervisors
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience driving with a Class 3 licence
- Experience with hydraulic truck systems is a plus
- Comfortable maneuvering a truck in tight spots
- Know how to work safely around landfills
- Able to handle physical work, including pushing and pulling bins
- Familiar with the Lower Mainland roads
- Able to work without close supervision
- Class 3 Licence preferred
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, including for marijuana, and random testing is part of the job
