Class 3/5 City Delivery Driver — From $28.50/hr

Our company, now part of GLS Canada, needs a Class 3/5 City Driver in Grande Prairie, AB to handle parcel and freight pickup and delivery around town. You'll run a 5-tonne truck carrying loads like animal feed, industrial gear, chemicals, drilling supplies and dry goods.

Pay

• Starting at $28.50 per hour

Schedule

• Daytime shifts Monday through Friday, plus Saturdays on a rotating basis

• Extra hours as needed

What you'll do

• Handle parcel and freight drop-offs and pickups in the city and nearby areas

• Work power tailgates and pallet jacks

• Pitch in on dock or yard tasks now and then

• Check your truck before trips and watch for basic maintenance issues

• Stay in touch with dispatch through two-way radio and PDA

• Load, unload and secure freight using straps or chains

• Keep your logs current and fill out BOLs and probills accurately

• Stay compliant with the National Safety Code, Alberta traffic laws and dangerous goods rules

Requirements

• Valid Alberta Class 3/5 license (Class 3 is preferred)

• 2 years driving Class 3/5 trucks in a city setting

• A current driver's abstract showing 4 demerits or fewer

• No criminal record

• Good familiarity with Grande Prairie and the surrounding region

• Able to communicate in English

• Must already live in the area; the company won't cover moving costs
