About this job
Our company in Winnipeg, MB is looking for a Class 1 Truck Driver to run freight between Winnipeg and the US. Both company drivers and owner operators are welcome to apply.
What you'll do
- Drive Class 1 trucks on assigned routes, following traffic laws and safety rules
- Load and unload cargo, using a forklift or other equipment as needed
- Check your truck before each trip (brakes, lights, tires, and other key systems)
- Keep accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and vehicle logs
- Handle minor mechanical repairs or troubleshooting to avoid delays
- Stay in touch with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to keep schedules on track
- Help out with warehouse tasks like sorting freight or checking inventory when needed
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Background operating heavy-duty trucks
- Comfortable using a forklift and other loading equipment
- Understanding of safe freight handling practices
- Basic vehicle repair knowledge is a plus
- Able to complete thorough pre-trip inspections and solve mechanical problems on the road
- Good communicator who can work independently in a busy environment
