Class 1 Truck Driver / Mechanic — $20–$35/hr

Our company in Delta, BC is looking for a dependable Class 1 driver who can also handle mechanical work. This is a part-time, dual-role position combining route driving with truck maintenance, busiest from September through March.

Pay

• $20.00 to $35.00 per hour

• Mechanic duties are paid at a separate rate from driving work

What you'll do

• Drive heavy-duty trucks on assigned routes, delivering freight on schedule

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

• Load, unload and secure cargo properly

• Keep accurate logs, route records and delivery paperwork

• Stay in contact with dispatch about scheduling, delays or route issues

• Follow all traffic and safety regulations

Mechanic work (asset)

• At least 3 years of hands-on repair experience

• Perform routine maintenance on brakes, engines and transmissions

• Diagnose, test, repair and replace mechanical parts

• Handle both major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving abstract

• Solid track record operating large commercial vehicles

• Capable of heavy lifting for cargo handling

• Good grasp of traffic laws and transportation safety standards

• Strong time management to hit delivery windows

• Clear communication skills for working with dispatch and customers

• Physical endurance for long days on the road

• Comfortable with written and spoken English
