Class 1 Truck Driver — Home Every Night, $28.00/hr

Our company Inc. needs a Class 1 driver for local and regional container runs around Newfoundland, mainly hauling for Oceanex. This is steady local work, so you sleep in your own bed every night instead of living on the road.

What you'll haul

• Oceanex containers on local and regional lanes throughout Newfoundland

What the job involves

• Pick up and drop off containers at set locations

• Do pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks each day

• Load and unload freight, using forklifts or other equipment as needed

• Secure cargo properly for the trip

• Keep accurate delivery logs, inspection records and freight paperwork

• Stay in touch with dispatch, warehouse staff and customers to coordinate schedules

• Handle basic troubleshooting or minor repairs to keep the truck running well

• Follow all transportation safety rules and company procedures

Requirements

• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 1 licence with a clean driving abstract

• Tractor-trailer driving experience

• Comfortable operating a forklift or similar equipment

• Familiar with freight handling and transport regulations

• Able to work independently, communicate clearly and follow instructions

• Physically able to manage loading/unloading and extended time behind the wheel

• Container hauling experience is a plus
