About this job
Competition Well Services needs a licensed Class 1 driver to run a metal removal truck across central Alberta, with fly-in/fly-out winter projects. This permanent, full-time role involves hauling scrap steel from field sites to disposal facilities and tracking everything digitally.
Pay
- Starting from $500.00 per day
What you'll haul
- Scrap steel loaded into a metal trailer, picked up from sites across Alberta and delivered to disposal facilities
Schedule and location
- Based out of the Red Deer area yard, working around central Alberta in summer
- Fly-in/fly-out assignments are common during winter
- May require working out of town or living in camp
Requirements
- Valid, clean Class 1 licence
- Comfortable driving in winter conditions, including installing tire chains (ice road experience is a plus, not mandatory)
- Current oilfield tickets: H2S, First Aid, CSO, WHMIS, TDG
- Willing to complete pre-employment (and possible follow-up) drug and alcohol testing
- Comfortable using a laptop to enter data into spreadsheets and job tracking websites
- Able to manage multiple job files and locations
- Own reliable transportation to the Red Deer yard
What you'll do
- Run daily pre-trip checks and a full inspection weekly
- Keep accurate daily log books
- Load and haul scrap steel from various Alberta sites
- Photograph cleared sites and upload images to job records
- Leave sites clean and free of scrap
- Record delivery weights and any scrap credits accurately
