Class 1 Truck Driver — $80,000–$100,000/Year, AB/BC Routes

Our company needs a company driver to run tractor-trailer routes between Alberta and British Columbia, returning to Alberta. You'll handle long, short-haul and local hauls, mostly on the Prairies and short interurban routes.

Pay

• $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Routes

• Runs between Alberta and British Columbia, back to Alberta

• Also covers long-haul, short-haul and local routes, mainly on the Prairies and short interurban stretches

What you'll haul

• Tractor-trailer units over 4500 kg, moving goods and materials over long distances to the Prairies

• May include hazardous products or dangerous goods, so you'll need to follow the safety rules for that type of cargo

What the job involves

• Plan your trips and gather the paperwork needed to move freight, including any special permits

• Check your rig before, during and after each trip: tires, lights, turn signals, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

• Load and secure cargo safely, and oversee loading and unloading

• Keep records of cargo details, hours of service, distance driven and fuel use

• Fill out bills of lading and keep log books, by hand or electronically

• Stay in touch with dispatch, other drivers and customers through radio, phone or on-board computer systems

• Possibly handle minor roadside repairs when needed

Requirements

• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience

• At least 1 year of mountain driving experience

• A clean driving abstract is mandatory
