Class 1 Truck Driver — $34.02–$40.80/hr, Local Kamloops Routes

Arrow is looking for Class 1 truck drivers in Kamloops, BC to join its Portable Wood Processing team, hauling wood fibre locally in B train and walking floor trailers. Routes run to bush grinder sites around Kamloops, usually within 2 hours of the local pulp mill, with both full-time and part-time schedules available.

Pay

• $34.02 to $40.80 per hour depending on experience

• Pension contribution of $3.75/hr, fully paid by Arrow

Schedule

• Choose between a 5 on, 2 off rotation (days and afternoons, 12-14 hour shifts, weekends optional) or a 4 on, 4 off rotation (days and afternoons, 12-14 hour shifts)

• Steady, year-round work

• Paid orientation with a dedicated Arrow mentor (not MELT)

What you'll haul

• Wood fibre, mostly grindings, along with sawdust and hogfuel

• B train and walking floor trailers

• Newer equipment

What you'll do

• Load and secure cargo safely, following all relevant transportation rules

• Carry out pre-trip, en route and post-trip equipment inspections

• Follow regulations covering hours of service, load securement, dangerous goods, safety and weight limits

• Keep accurate paperwork, including bills of lading

• Use truck computers, radios and phones to stay in touch with dispatch and supervisors

• Log your hours and vehicle condition electronically

• Treat customers, coworkers and the public with professionalism and respect

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 license with air brake endorsement

• Experience driving Super B combinations

• Clean driving record

• Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks

• Experience handling snow and poor weather conditions, including tire chaining

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent

• Solid spoken and written English for paperwork, reporting and talking with dispatch and site staff

• Able to move items up to 100 lbs, lift 50 lbs overhead and lift 75 lbs to shoulder height

• Able to sit for extended periods

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening

• General understanding of truck and trailer upkeep
