Our company Ltd. in Prince George, BC is looking for an experienced Class 1 driver for a mix of local and regional runs, with occasional mine site and hot-shot work. IWL has been operating in Northern and Central BC since 1968 and is now part of the Brink Group of Companies, serving mining, oil and gas, and industrial customers.
Pay
- From $29.00 per hour, based on your experience and qualifications
- Full-time, about 40 hours per week
What you'll drive and haul
- Class 1 commercial trucks and trailers
- A combination of local and regional routes, plus mine runs and hot-shot deliveries as needed on short notice
What the job involves
- Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Securing loads properly and hauling them safely
- Loading and unloading materials when required
- Filling out trip records and shipping paperwork
- Keeping your truck clean and in good condition
- Staying in contact with dispatch, customers and management
- Following all safety rules set by the company, customers and regulators
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver's licence with air brake endorsement
- Clean, acceptable driver's abstract
- Prior commercial driving experience
- Comfortable working independently and adjusting to changing priorities
- Strong safety mindset and solid communication skills
- Able and willing to travel to mine sites and handle time-sensitive hot-shot runs
- Experience with industrial, mining or other specialized freight is a plus
