Class 1 Truck Driver — $29.00–$31.00/hr, Dedicated Trucks

Our company in Nanaimo, BC is hiring Class 1 Drivers for full-time and part-time positions, moving freight safely across Vancouver Island. The company has been in business for over 30 years and offers stable work with predictable schedules.

Pay

• $29.00 to $31.00 per hour

• Overtime kicks in after 45 hours

• Annual reviews that can lead to wage increases

• Signing bonus of $500 to $700 for full-time and part-time hires once you finish a 90-day probation period

Schedule and equipment

• Regular, predictable start times

• You'll be assigned your own dedicated truck

• Routes are trip rated

• Weekend availability is a plus but not mandatory

What you'll do

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks

• Flag any maintenance problems right away

• Handle freight carefully and deliver it on schedule

• Keep delivery logs and paperwork accurate

• Stay in regular contact with dispatch and customers

• Keep your truck clean and in good shape

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 driver's license

• Able to drive manual transmission

• Clean driving abstract

• Background in commercial or freight driving

• Good communication and customer service abilities

• Safety-minded with solid work habits

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Helpful but not required: basic mechanical skills, forklift certification or experience
