About this job
Our company is looking for a Class 1 driver in New Westminster, BC to deliver product to McDonald's restaurants. You'll handle a tractor-trailer, help unload at each stop, and represent the company with strong customer service.
Pay
- $36.87/hr base rate
What you'll haul
- Deliveries to McDonald's restaurants using a 48'-53' tractor-trailer
What you'll do
- Operate the tractor-trailer safely and professionally
- Check your equipment before each run to confirm it's fueled, safe and ready to go
- Secure the vehicle and confirm the refrigeration unit is running once loading is finished
- Hook up, stage and secure trailers daily according to the route schedule
- Help unload product at delivery stops
- Complete daily inspection reports and other required paperwork
- Follow company Health and Safety rules and report any incidents or injuries right away
- Keep equipment and the staging area secure
- Follow DOT rules along with company policies, Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, Global Food Safety Initiative standards, and Good Warehouse/Driving Practices
- Take on other assigned tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a licensed Class A/AZ or Class 1 driver
- Experience hauling 48'-53' tractor-trailers
- Able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 55 lbs
- Strong work ethic, time management and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities, with initiative and leadership qualities
- Must pass a background check and drug test after a job offer is made
