About this job
Our company is looking for a two-person driving crew to run freight on the lane between Edmonton and California. You'll share the truck as a team, keep freight moving on schedule, and handle the full range of on-road duties.
What you'll do
- Drive a Class 1 commercial truck safely, following traffic laws and company policy
- Move freight on the designated route between Edmonton and California, keeping deliveries on time and secure
- Check the truck before and after each trip, covering brakes, lights, tires and load security
- Load and unload freight, using a forklift or other equipment when the job calls for it
- Keep paperwork current, including logs, manifests and delivery receipts
- Stay in contact with dispatch, warehouse teams and customers to line up pickups and drop-offs
- Handle routine upkeep of the equipment and basic repairs, or arrange for repairs when needed
Requirements
- Class 1 license, with driving experience preferred
- Understanding of freight handling and safety rules around heavy equipment
- Comfort operating a forklift or similar loading equipment
- Basic know-how for troubleshooting minor vehicle problems
- Solid route-planning and navigation ability
- Clear communicator who prioritizes safety and customer care
Pay
$84,000.00–$110,000.00 per year.
