Class 1 Shunt Driver — $22.00–$28.00/hr, Mon–Thu Schedule

Our company in Abbotsford, BC needs an experienced Class 1 shunt driver for their Service division. You'll move trailers and heavy-duty trucks around the yard on a condensed four-day work week.

Schedule

• Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm

• Permanent, full-time position

What you'll do

• Operate Class 1 vehicles and shunt trucks to reposition trailers and heavy-duty trucks within the yard and to assigned spots

• Check vehicles before and after use and confirm they're roadworthy

• Record and report any repair or maintenance issues

• Follow all safety rules and transportation laws

• Work with the maintenance crew to keep vehicles moving efficiently

• Help keep the yard tidy, organized and safe

• Stay in close contact with your team and supervisors

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record

• At least 1 year of shunt driving or similar experience

• Comfortable operating a standard (manual) transmission

• Solid knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer handling

• B-Train experience is a plus

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle the physical demands of the job

• Fluent in spoken and written English

• Safety-focused, mechanically minded, reliable and a good team player

Pay

$22.00-$28.00 per hour, with shift premiums and overtime potential when it's available
