About this job
Our company is looking for a dependable Class 1 driver to run local and regional routes out of Vancouver, BC. You'll haul temperature-controlled freight, handle pickups and deliveries across the city and the wider BC area, and represent the company with safe, professional service. This is a full-time position with various shifts and start times.
What you'll haul
- Temperature-controlled (reefer) freight, operated according to company and regulatory standards
- Freight secured with straps, chains and load bars to meet load-securement rules
- Some hand-bombing (manual loading and unloading) as needed
Routes and schedule
- Local and regional delivery area within Vancouver and BC
- Full-time, with variable schedules that may include overtime, weekends or overnight runs
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license
- Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Recent, verifiable commercial driving experience (within the last 3 months to 1 year), with 1-5 years total Class 1 experience
- Comfortable driving commercial vehicles in winter conditions
- Solid grasp of hours-of-service rules, road safety and load securement
- Able to complete eLogs, inspection reports and delivery paperwork accurately
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs when required
- Good knowledge of Vancouver and the surrounding area
- Strong communication and customer-service skills with a safety-first mindset
You'll also be responsible for pre-trip and post-trip inspections (tires, brakes, lights, cargo), reporting any issues promptly, and keeping all logs and paperwork current.
