Class 1 Reefer Truck Driver — $0.60/mile

J-Lane Freight System Inc. in Chilliwack, BC needs a Class 1 driver to haul temperature-controlled freight. You'll run refrigerated trailers on local and longer routes, keeping cargo safe and on schedule.

What you'll haul

• Refrigerated (reefer) freight on both short and long routes

• You'll watch the reefer unit's temperature settings throughout each trip to keep goods from spoiling

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 1 truck pulling a refrigerated trailer

• Check the tractor, trailer and cooling system before and after every run

• Load and unload freight yourself, using a forklift or other equipment when needed

• Keep delivery paperwork, logs and manifests up to date and accurate

• Stay in touch with dispatch, customers and warehouse staff to line up pickups and drop-offs

• Watch for mechanical problems, handle basic repairs when you can, and flag anything bigger

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving history

• Hands-on experience running reefer trailers or similar heavy equipment commercially

• Comfortable loading and unloading freight, including forklift work

• Able to do basic mechanical fixes and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment

• Solid grasp of safety rules for commercial driving and equipment handling

• Clear communicator who can coordinate with dispatch and clients

• Physically able to lift heavy loads, stand for long stretches and carry out inspections

Pay is listed as $0.60 per mile, with a separate range of $30.00-$36.80 per hour also noted.
