Class 1 Low Bed Driver — Up to $42.00/hr

A transportation company in Nanaimo, BC needs a Class 1 driver to run a low-bed trailer hauling heavy machinery and oversized loads. You'll be responsible for securing and moving equipment like excavators, loaders and bulldozers safely from site to site.

Pay

• Up to $42.00 per hour

What you'll haul

• Heavy construction and industrial machinery (excavators, loaders, bulldozers and similar equipment) on a low-bed trailer, including oversized and overweight loads

What you'll do

• Drive low-bed and heavy-haul trucks

• Load, position and secure equipment and oversized loads correctly

• Check trucks, trailers, chains, straps and binders before every trip

• Fill out daily inspection reports and keep up with required paperwork

• Map out routes that work for oversized or overweight loads

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 commercial license

• Background in low-bed, flat-deck, heavy-haul or equipment transport is a plus

• Experience moving heavy construction or industrial machinery

• Able to operate heavy equipment

• Solid grasp of load securement rules and oversized-load regulations

• Comfortable working with vehicle weights, dimensions and weight distribution

• Clean driving history and professional habits behind the wheel

• Confident doing pre-trip and post-trip checks

• Good communication and organizational skills

• Physically able to handle loading and securing tasks
